Table Centrepieces that Wow

Get your table party-ready in minutes with easy-to-assemble centrepieces. We show you how:

The centrepiece is usually the star of a tablescape so ensure that yours is shining. What can you use? Almost anything you have around the home. Containers, vases, glasses, artifacts, silk flowers, potpourri, fruits, candles, candy, chocolates – almost anything can be turned into a gorgeous centrepiece.

Display things differently. Show off flowers in an old tureen or teapot, pop little blossoms into wine glasses, float bright apples in clear glass jars, toss paper pinwheels into a small iron bucket, or display shells on a bring blue bed (of detergent).

Ensure that your centrepiece has a natural element. You can use succulents, plants, flowers, leaves, fruits or dried spices. Almost anything that you find in your kitchen can be made table-worthy with the right approach.

Add colour and taste to the table with an edible centrepiece. A bowl piled with colourful fruit, a glass jar full of water and sliced cucumber or citrus fruits, or a cheese board. A dessert table becomes even more attractive with the addition of a bowl of beautifully wrapped chocolates or party favours.

Don’t take the “guests for dinner” bit too seriously. Add playful accents so that guests know that they can count on having a good time. Graphic plates, funky coasters, funny napkins and mismatched candles can often come together to create a fun centrepiece.
